For the third year running we are proud to support the Parks and Places programme out in Upper Hutt. This programme provides daily opportunities for people to get active in the Upper Hutt region.
Running from January through to March 2018, Upper Hutt City Council's Activation team have put together a calendar of events that caters to all ages and abilities. The activities are low or no cost, and showcase active recreation providers and events within the local community.
These activities can include: hapkido, hockey on wheels, target shooting, Nordic walking, tai chi, lawn bowls, cycling, roller skating, bowls, a boot camp, petanque, BMX, walking, Pilates, and swimming.
Other key events include the popular Paws in the Park, Kev the Kiwi walks, Top School and Bike the Trail.
For more information and an event calendar head over to Activation's Facebook page.
The Gas Hub has been a supporter of the Lyall Bay Surf Life Saving Club for some years now. The Surf Club patrols Lyall Bay beach out by Wellingon Airport and has a large active membership of junior and senior members and offer a competitive training squad for surf sports.
The Gas Hub has contributed to a new trailer for boards, as well as age-group flags for the youth programme. The Surf Club’s latest big project is replacing the clubhouse, which was built in the 1950s, with a purpose-built facility that meets the modern-day needs for both lifeguarding and sports. We are also pleased to sponsor the natural gas-powered continuous flow hot water systems required to power the new clubhouse’s hot water needs. We will also provide the natural gas connection to the club. So it’s endless hot showers for all!
